A New Morning is a short, educational game about autism

Made by autistic people - for everyone!

In the game, you play as Bee, an autistic child getting ready for school. Try to get ready without using up too much energy (spoons). Both autism community veterans and those who don't know much about autism can learn something from this game! The information within comes from community knowledge, lived experience, and statistics from recent studies.

The game takes no skill to play, the goal is merely to approach things from an autistic perspective and learn. You never know what might make you lose spoons - but that's okay! "Mistakes" are encouraged, and dialogue trees may be taken multiple times.

10-15 minute playtime ~ 25 interactable objects

(Educators are welcome to use A New Morning in classroom settings.)

Hi! I really enjoyed the game and I shared it with my students. They are doing a paragraph on autism and what people should be aware of. I was wondering if there could be any changes in the future about the changing terminology from autistic people to people with autism so they wouldn't feel characterized by it. Just a thought. Thank you and the students thought it was very informative!

Hi mate, not op, but autistic people prefer using autistic, since saying people with autism kinda implies that we're carrying around our autism like a bag, which is not true at all.

Nice job on this! I enjoyed it. It's a neat idea for an educational game, and it's very pretty.

I really enjoyed this game! The art was beautiful and the experiences and facts were well blended into the gameplay. Great job! :)

Oh my goodness I just came back to play some game on itch and I realized that I didn't read your reply yet. I found this game through my sister's blog and I thought it was an accurate portrayal of autism. Thank you!
