A one-page SRD for a one-page, high-octane oneshot system: Horseshoe

Made for a GM and 2-5 players

In Horseshoe, build characters by giving them different skills and stats, and assigning them a bond, a fear, and a hope. The whole party will roll a goal, boon, and danger. Then you're off to the races! Roll 2d6 to determine if you're successful ... or successful at a price. In Horseshoe, a low roll doesn't mean you don't accomplish your task. You do the thing, BUT ... there's a consequence, curveball, or unintended effect

Failure Examples:

1. Petra rolls to see if they have any Connections that might help … on a 4, they know the perfect guy for the task … but she’s their messy ex.
   
2. Marley wants to Repair the radio to see if he can get a signal … on a 2, the radio is working, but it’s stuck at the highest volume of the top 40 hits and the murderer can definitely hear it. 

Horseshoe games are quick, full of twists and turns, and end with a Bang (for good or for ill). Make dynamic characters in minutes and then set them loose on their shared mission
